Dance and cinema, these arts of movement, have never ceased to multiply their pas de deux.
In French cinema, when the director says “Moteur” [“motor”], the cameraman replies “Ça tourne” [“it’s shooting”/”it’s turning”], indicating that the camera is moving and scrolling the film roll [“Moteur, ça tourne, action” is the French equivalent of “Lights, camera, action”]. So let’s make our own cinema!
Spinning is also a frequent figure in dance, like jumping or walking. From the spiral of movement to the round in space, from the rotation of a shoulder to that of the pelvis, from the curve of the body to the gyration on oneself, it’s turning!
A cheerful team of dancers invites you to take your eyes on a journey. Come and take a spin around the dance floor or on the merry-go-round “You make my head spin!

A thousand and one dances

A thousand and one dances? A thousand and one ways of dancing – for everyone to find their own dance, and then slip into that of others. Multiple movements and bodies, again and again. Like the Thousand and One Nights, one dance leads to another, and another to another. Scheherazades aplenty, cascading twists and turns, a myriad of escapes. Singularities and suspense. This project’s challenge is to make the thousand and one dimensions of the group involved in this great crossing co-exist. Dances like a signature, other dances like shared impulses, proximities and differences. A tireless revival of the bodies that present themselves. This is what Mille et une danses aims to set in motion. A tale, an epic, interweaving, personalities. So everything dances and responds to each other…
